Three layers: hosts complete government-ID KYC, each property's ownership or lease document is reviewed by our team before the listing becomes visible, and guests verify their identity too — required up front for Instant Book stays, and before move-in for long-term rentals.
Layer 1 — Host identity (KYC)
A host submits a government ID which is checked before they can take their first listing live. If a submission is rejected, the host sees the specific reason and can resubmit — but a listing never goes public with an unverified host behind it.
Layer 2 — Property documents
Identity alone doesn't prove someone may rent out a specific flat. So every new property is held until our team reviews its ownership or lease documentation. This is the check that kills the most common rental fraud in India — the 'landlord' who doesn't own the property.
Layer 3 — Guest verification

Frequently asked questions
Can a listing appear without any verification?
No. New listings are held by default and released only after the host's KYC and the property's documents are approved by our operations team.
Why was my KYC rejected?
The app shows the exact rejection category — usually a blurred photo, mismatched name, or an expired document. Fix the specific issue and resubmit; there's a retry limit to prevent abuse, so double-check before submitting.
Do hosts see my documents?
Never. Verification is between you and Smart Kiraya. Hosts only see that you're verified — a checkmark, not your papers.
