What checks happen before a listing goes live?
Every host completes identity KYC, and every property must clear a document check (ownership or lease papers) reviewed by our operations team. A new listing stays on hold — invisible to renters — until both checks pass. That's why you won't find the classic marketplace scam of a stranger 'renting out' a flat they've never seen.
How are payments protected?
- All payments run through Razorpay, an RBI-regulated payment gateway — UPI, cards, and netbanking. Smart Kiraya never asks you to transfer money to a personal account.
- The price you see is the price you pay: GST-inclusive, shown in full before checkout. No surprise fees at the end.
- For BnB stays, your booking confirms only after payment is captured — and if a change can't be honoured, the difference is refunded automatically.
- Payment receipts land in your email for every transaction.
Why can't I see the host's phone number right away?
By design. Contact details and the exact address stay masked until a booking (or rental connection) is confirmed. Once you book, the host's contact and full address appear on your booking page.
Can reviews be faked?
Reviews on Smart Kiraya are double-blind: after a stay, the guest and host each write their review without seeing the other's, and both publish together (or after the review window closes). Only guests who actually completed a booking can review, every review runs through automated fraud checks that look for suspicious patterns across accounts and devices, and machine-learning moderation screens for abuse.
